Fun With Maps

From plat maps to historic depictions of trails through the Appalachians, maps are one of the most valuable tools we use in researching our ancestors.  They can prove where those folks were and certainly can prove where there were not.  We will look at lots of maps which will help you advance your research while looking at my favorite works of art – MAPS.

The presenter, Marcia Murray Holstrom, has been researching her family history since 1975. She is descended from First Families of Ohio and Stephen Hopkins who arrived on the Mayflower. She is retired from teaching geography and family history at local colleges. She has been a member of the SCCHGS for many years and currently serves as the Chair of the Pioneer Society, a lineage society for longtime residents of Santa Clara County.
