Home library MenuWi-Fi Access
At the Santa Clara City Library, you can use our free wireless connection from your own laptop without a library card.
How to Connect
If you have a newer laptop or wireless card, your computer may automatically find the wireless network. To manually find the wireless network, use the following settings to connect:
Network name or SSID: | CSC-Public |
Wireless Mode or Network Type: | Access Point or Infrastructure (not "Ad Hoc") |
Network properties: | Use DHCP (Obtain an IP address automatically) |
WEP: | Off |
Once your computer finds the City of Santa Clara Free WiFi (CSC-Public), you will need to read and agree to the terms and conditions in order to access to the internet. For more information about the City of Santa Clara Free WiFi, visit the Santa Clara City Wireless FAQ's page.
Devices
Bring your own laptop or wireless-enabled device. The Library does not check out wireless cards; we do have a limited amount of Chromebooks for a 3-week checkout period. See here for more information on checking out a Chromebook or Mobile Hotspot. Remember to bring a fully charged device as public electric outlets may not be available for use.
