Check Out and Code Kits
Head to your local Santa Clara City Library to pick up a Check Out and Code Kit! Each kit contains a Chromebook, charging cable and wall charger, mouse, instruction sheet, bag and automatic access to our coding hub. Kits can be put on hold here. Once you log into the Chromebook, you will be directed to the coding hub filled with coding curricula. There you can choose what coding language to learn and start coding! Currently, we offer curricula for:
Python Java C++
Scratch ScratchJr CSFirst
This is a living project, so we would appreciate for all users to fill out this survey and make comments so that we can make changes and improve this service.
These curricula are mostly aimed for users aged 10+, but we have coding lessons for ages 5+. When using these lessons, it is important that an adult is present to help and guide these younger coders.
This service was funded by the 2021-2022 PLP Innovation Grant.
