Chromebooks can be borrowed for a 3-week loan period with valid photo ID and Santa Clara City Library card in good standing. They must be checked out and returned at the Customer Service desk.

Using a Chromebook

• Sign in with a Google account, or as a guest by selecting the "Browse as Guest" option.
• Connect the Chromebook to the Internet.
  • You can also connect the Chromebook to the public Wi-Fi network in the Library or while on the go using a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot device.
  • The Library also offers Chromebook & Hotspot Combo Kits for your convenience!
• After logging out, no personal data can be accessed by other users.

The Library offers mobile Wi-Fi hotspot devices for on-the-go Internet access. These 4G LTE hotspots can connect compatible computers or Wi-Fi-enabled consumer electronics like smartphones and tablets to the Internet from any location within the T-Mobile 4G coverage areas.

Hotspots can be borrowed for a 3-week loan period with valid photo ID and Santa Clara City Library card in good standing. They must be checked out and returned at the Customer Service desk.

Using a Mobile Hotspot

• Turn on the hotspot by holding down the power button.
• Connect a compatible computer or Wi-Fi enabled device to the hotspot's Wi-Fi network.
  • You can also borrow a Chromebook from the Library to use with the hotspot.
  • The Library also offers Chromebook & Hotspot Combo Kits for your convenience!
• Hotspots will only work in the United States within T-Mobile coverage areas.

The Library offers a limited number of kits containing both a Chromebook laptop and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot device. The Chromebook will automatically connect to the hotspot’s Wi-Fi service when both are turned on, so you can access the Internet in your home or on the go!
