How to Break Through Brick Walls Using Guadalajara Dispensations

Our speaker, Alicia Carrillo, will describe how to unlock the ancestries of many of Mexico’s original settler families using the extensive records found in the Archdiocese of Guadalajara. Surprisingly, these records contain more than just marriage dispensations, such as pre-marriage investigations, divorces, land and will records and priest’s holy orders.

Alicia Carrillo is a co-founder of the Nuevo Mundo Historical and Genealogical Society of Silicon Valley. The group focuses on helping people of Latino and Mexican ancestry, with their family history, DNA connections and genealogy.
