The Santa Clara City Library is proud to present this talk with EdVoice's Chief External Relations Officer, Felix Flores on the issues of equitable education, community, and culture building. We will discuss his decades of work in the nonprofit sector as well as how he drives civic discourse outside of his day job. With the school calendar year starting up shortly discussions like these will be increasingly important to have in order to support our youth during these uncertain times.

Bio:

Felix Flores is an executive social change leader with 20 years of experience in scaling organizational impact, implementing vision-based strategies and efficient operations in nonprofit, academic, and corporate environments. Excellent supervisory skills to enhance a team’s productivity to exceed budget and internal expectations for performance and fundraising. Inspired to utilize his proven background in professional/leadership development and performance management for wide-scale positive social change and maximizing impact. Managed multi-million dollar organizations, often highest ranked in organization for program performance & DEI goals. Highly skilled in People and Operations Management, both in local, regional and national models. Thrives in taking start-ups and turn-around business situations/teams to the next level of performance.

His passion to positively impact disadvantaged people of color through resource building and community empowerment derives from his upbringing in a low-income family and being the first in his family to graduate from college. Prior to EdVoice, he served as Executive Director be at iMentor Bay Area, the National Director for #YesWeCode and the Director of Alumni Scholarships & Student Engagement at the University of California Alumni Association. Felix received his BA in Sociology from UCLA. Although originally from Southern California; Felix's and his family proudly cheer for the Golden State Warriors.
