This seminar is organized into two portions. The first portion is a short discussion of the recent decision by a California judge to suspend SAT/ACT consideration as part of admissions to UC schools. This decision directly impacts current high school seniors and could continue to have an impact depending on how coronavirus affects access to taking the SAT/ACT going forward.
The second portion of the seminar is about the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which is a standardized test administered by the College Board and co-sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the United States. You’ll learn from our expert best practices for taking the PSAT. The following topics will be covered:
- Should you prep specifically for the PSAT?
- How do National Merit scholarships relate to the PSAT?
- What types of scholarships can you get for the PSAT?
- What is the overlap between the SAT and the PSAT?
- How do colleges use the PSAT?
- What’s a good score?
- How should you study for the PSAT?
Eventbrite registration is required. Registration will end on Tuesday, September 8 at 12 pm. Participants who have registered will be given access credentials on September 8 by 3 pm.
