Celebrate Earth Day with some awesome experiments you can try at home!

Our virtual STEAM labs encourage children to try science experiments at home using household items and/or cheap supplies. You can find the list of supplies needed below.

PLEASE NOTE: For safety concerns, participants will not be able to join in with video or audio. Parental supervision and assistance is required for this program at all times. All experiments are recommended for ages 7 & up.

If you'd like to try the experiments along with the live event, please gather the following supplies:

Volcano Challenge
Large tray
8 oz water bottle or small bottle with narrow top
Party hat or construction paper folded into a cone
2 tbsp baking soda
1/4 cup vinegar
Funnel
Red food coloring

Hurricane in a Bowl
Clear, large bowl
Water
Spoon
Food Coloring

Rain in a Cup
9 oz plastic clear cup
18 oz clear cup or jar(opening has to be narrow enough so the smaller plastic cup does not fall through)
Cotton balls
Water
Food coloring
Push pin
