Our virtual STEAM labs encourage children to try science experiments at home using household items and/or cheap supplies. For May, we'll be exploring chemical reactions and density through food! Review the materials list below and have them ready to go before the lab.
Experiment #1
- Airtight jar (small mason jar or plastic jar)
- Heavy cream at room temperature
Experiment #2
- Measuring spoons
- Citric acid
- 5 clear plastic drinking cups
- Baking soda
- Measuring cups
- Drinking water
- Spoon
- Granulated sugar
- Food coloring (optional)
Experiment #3
- Large bucket or plastic container
- Various cans of drinks (sparkling water, soda, juice)
