Our virtual STEAM labs encourage children to try science experiments at home using household items and/or cheap supplies. For June, we will be focusing on the "A" in STEAM, and we will explore amazing rainbow experiments and a craft to celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride month!

Please have the following supplies ready before the event:

Experiment #1- Magic Pride Rainbow

• Clear or white tray
• Paper towels
• Black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple washable markers (not permanent)
• Black permanent marker
• Eye dropper or pipette
• Water

Experiment #2- Rainbow Tie Dye Tissue

• 4 empty, clear cups
• Water
• Food coloring (at least 4 different colors)
• White Tissue Paper
• Rubber bands
• Plate
• Paper towels

Craft- Modern Pride Flag Rainbow

• One sheet of cardstock paper or construction paper of each of these colors (cardstock highly recommended):
  • Black, brown, light blue, light pink, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Stapler or tape (stapler preferred)
• Cotton balls
• White glue (Glue stick will not work)

PLEASE NOTE: For safety concerns, participants will not be able to join in with video or audio. Parental supervision and assistance are required for this program at all times. All experiments are recommended for ages 7 & up.
