“If Maps Could Talk: An 1889 Map Project” presented by Martha Wallace and the GenBuds

  • Date: 07/20/2021 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

What was Santa Clara County like in 1889? Who owned the property where you live today? Using the 1889 official map of Santa Clara County, a local group of genealogists investigated 1889 property owners and learned about some of the people for whom our streets, schools and local landmarks are named: some famous and some not so well-known. Join us to hear the interesting stories they discovered, learn about the resources they used and plan your own investigation into the 1889 owner of the property where you live today.

The GenBuds is a group of local Santa Clara County genealogists who meet to explore resources and research techniques for delving into their family histories. Martha Wallace and others will present their findings from this fascinating project.

Our monthly meetings are free and open to the public. To attend, you must register in advance at https://tinyurl.com/y3b8yyh7.
