Teen Library Internship Details:
The Santa Clara City Library has acquired a California State Library grant to hire teen interns to lead Summer Reading camp activities 2-3 times a week for school aged kids over the Summer and to help lead a homework center for students from the Santa Clara Unified School District during the 22-23 School Year.
The teen interns will be expected to work 12 hours per week over the summer and 6 hours per week during the school year. Several of those hours will be in personal and professional development growth in leadership and developing soft skills. The Library will partner with the Santa Clara County Office of Education to help facilitate trainings for the teens to work with school aged children. We will also work with our partners Keypoint Credit Union, Chamber of Commerce and with Local Union Representatives to talk about financial literacy and workers’ rights. During this internship, the teen interns will develop on the job skills that will help them accomplish goals in their future careers.
