On August 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. on Zoom with will speak with Priya Das, a VP – Programming Strategy and co-founder of Sangam’s Mosaic Silicon Valley initiative. She is the creator of Mosaic’s inspired framework for arts and social collaboration for community-building and drives creative vision, programming strategy, artist relations, and community outreach for physical and virtual. In addition to being an arts critic and columnist, Priya is trained in the Hawaiian/ Slide Guitar, Indian classical Bharatanatyam and Carnatic vocal, and has familiarity with Spanish Flamenco. She works as a Project Manager at an international eCommerce company in Silicon Valley and is an alumna of Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute (MALI) and SVCreates’ MindShare program. Priya holds degrees in Business and Computer Science.

We will also speak with Farima Berenji, who is an Iranian-American scholar and dance ethnologist, an award winning internationally acclaimed dance artist, a choreographer, instructor, and an archaeologist specializing in ancient, sacred, classical, and folkloric dances of Persia, Ionia, and the Silk Road. She is a third generation artist—her devotion to the world of arts inspired by both her mother and grandmother as performing artists, poets, and musicians of Azerbaijani heritage. Farima has spent her lifetime studying Persian/Iranian and Central Asian dance, culture, and history. Recognized as one of the few world scholarly experts of ancient and mystical dance ethnology, she travels worldwide to record, research, lecture, perform, educate, and to inspire dynamic creativity and rejuvenation through dance and movement.
