ONLINE: Nature in Close-Up

Self-Guided Natural History Activities for All Ages

  • Date: 09/27/2022 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Any walk in the outdoors can be healthful and fun, but have you ever tried experiencing nature zoomed in for a close-up? Spying that hidden bird's nest or a mushroom popping out of the forest floor; identifying plants by their leaves and flowers; or trying to figure out who left that track in the mud are all "natural history" activities that can enhance our joy in the outdoors. Get started with becoming an amateur natural historian with a Zoom talk by ecologist Virginia Matzek of Santa Clara University. She will share ideas for self-guided activities for kids and adults to get a closer (and better-informed) view of nature from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27.

Registration required to receive Zoom link: https://santaclaraca-gov.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_u-_N6AeLScCq9pSF4BIAKQ

Note: The activities described in this program are suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome to attend; however, the program is designed for an adult audience.

This program was supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.
