Santa Clara Public Library

Join us for a fun, interactive, educational activity to teach youth how to be safer pedestrians! Participants will walk, ride, and roll through "Safe Moves City" with pretend intersections, crosswalks, bike lanes to provide practice moving through their city safely. Youth will learn how to recognize traffic hazards and how to avoid them under the supervision of traffic safety instructors. 

All lesson plans are designed to be age-appropriate and administered by trained safety instructors. Lesson Plans are as follows: 

·       Safe places to walk  

·       Unsafe places to walk 

·       Explanation of traffic signs and signals  

·       Recognition and avoidance of common pedestrian collisions 

 ·     Understanding of driver behaviors
