About the 3-week Zen meditation series:
This 3-week introductory class will cover the basic practices of Zen meditation. The first session will begin with techniques of Zen meditation including meditation postures, breathing techniques, body and mind relaxation practice, and focus training. The second session will introduce what meditative state (Chan Ding) is, and steps to enter meditative state. The last session will focus on applying Zen meditation to our daily lives. There will be guided meditations in each session as well as a few Zen body exercises. The goal of this 3-week class is for participants to be able to meditate for 30 mins to experience inner peace, and find harmony in life.
About the facilitator:
The facilitator Tongming has practiced Zen meditation for 29 years. He was one of the founders and board members of Heart Chan, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing benefits of Zen meditation to the society. He has over 10 years of experience in teaching Zen meditation to the public including Milpitas Library, UC Berkeley, and College of San Mateo, etc.
