New courses are added each week to help users learn the most relevant professional skills. Get access to over 16,000 courses in 7 different languages–English, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, and Spanish. 

Patrons can watch courses on a web browser or take them on the go with LinkedIn Learning's mobile app (available for iOS and Android).

 NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessment

NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessment

The NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessment, offered through Santa Clara City Library, helps adults demonstrate that they have the basic computer literacy skills needed in today’s workplace. The assessments include self-guided modules: Essential Computer Skills (Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows, Mac OS), Essential Software Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Using Technology in Daily Life (Social Media and Information Literacy.)

Anyone can take the assessments for free on the website. To earn a certificate, the test must be proctored online by library staff.
Please contact readsantaclara@santaclaraca.gov to set up a Learner Account and/or to schedule an online proctored test. Certificates and digital literacy badges will be awarded by the library to successful test takers.

Small Business Reference Center

Small Business Reference Center

This database offers a variety of information on small business and entrepreneurial subjects, common business types, a help and advice section, and provides information on creating business plans that lead to successful funding. Also included are many full-text Nolo Press books covering areas of interest to small businesses.
