About Pride 2020
The Santa Clara City Library is celebrating Pride 2020 in June, which makes this the 5-year anniversary of the Library’s first observance of LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Questioning) Pride Month. Although we are unable to gather together like we have in years past, our staff is committed to ensuring that the spirit of LGBTQ Pride Month lives on in our digital spaces. For Pride 2020, we’ve assembled staff-recommended lists for books and media, a variety of digital programming, and a collection of resources for people in Santa Clara and beyond.
Most importantly, we are also launching our new Pride 2020 Challenge--an online experience that highlights the vibrancy of the LGBTQ community through 10 unique activities--alongside our much beloved Summer Reading Program. Our hope is that Pride 2020 will be remembered not for the physical gatherings we weren’t able to attend, but for the new connections that we were able to build--to ourselves, to each other, and to our communities.
Pride 2020 reflects the Santa Clara City Library's commitment to providing inclusive services and programs that honor the diversity within our communities. For more information, please read our Diversity & Inclusion Statement.
